“The House of the Rising Sun” is a traditional folk song, sometimes called “Rising Sun Blues”. The best-known version is certainly that of The Animals recorded in the sixties, but the original version is from the nineteenth century. The lyric tells of prostitution, referring to a brothel in New Orleans. The arpeggiated chords are easy to play on the guitar, and this can be a good exercise if you are a beginner and you are starting to play with fingerstyle classical guitar. The greatest difficulty will be the small barré in the F major chord. Have fun with The House of Rising Sun for classical guitar.
