Granada (Seranata) - I. Albéniz -No. 1 from Suite Española, Op.47

Although it was published after his death, the “Suite Espanola” by Isaac Albéniz is one of his works for piano most played by concert performers. Very famous is the song Asturias (Leyenda), especially in the classical guitar version, but in this collection of eight songs, there’s also this “Serenata” which means serenade, and which recreates the atmosphere of the Spanish city of Granada. The song is indeed very romantic, with contrasts of colors and harmony, and is great for the sweet sound of the classical guitar.
